Ten Is The Magic Number

Today is going to be a good day. I have a Power Plate class to look forward to but once I have survived that the wonderful Amber is coming over to highlight my hair and put my extensions back in and then I am off to watch The Talented Floozie do his thang at The London Coffee Festival (who knew that coffee got it's own festival?!).......we are going out after for some food/drinks I think so all in all I have a very pleasant "Sunday" ahead of me!

I've had my hair extensions out for about two weeks now and I feel naked without them although everyone keeps remarking on my new hair cut......

.....they all look a little shocked when I explain that I haven't had a hair cut for about eight years and the only difference is the lack of some Russian birds hair on my head! I take it as a massive compliment that no one realised my flowing locks weren't all my own there is nothing worse than visible extensions.......wrong, just WRONG! Amber is going to attempt to even out my dyed and sun bleached hair so that I can then dye it bright red......hopefully this will end up looking fab.......hopefully. If not I'll be going back to the failsafe dark brown!

I took the extensions out because I'd had them in for a little over six months and also so I wouldn't have to worry about them whilst on holiday! Did I mention that I'd been on holiday? I have you know.....I went to Lanzarote with Amber and a couple of her friends and I had a wonderful time!

We stayed at the Dream Hotel Gran Castillo in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote which was lovely, it's an all inclusive resort so I had mixed feelings about it but overall I was impressed. I enjoyed the food but I am a creature of habit and I'll happily eat pretty much the same thing for a week and not feel hard done by, some of the girls were a little less impressed (especially the vegetarian......there was always some type of ham in every salad!) but it didn't get in the way of our enjoyment of the sun! I've been to the Canary Islands before so I knew we wouldn't have heated swimming pools.........but blimey they were COLD! I went swimming twice during the week which I'm actually quite proud of (the pools really were freezing!), other than that we basically lounged by the pool doing rotisserie chicken impressions whilst readings books. I'd bought myself The Hunger Games trilogy and I finished it in three days.....I could not put it down! Unfortunately the rest of the books I had were on my iPad which did not work well in the sun so I ended up listening to audio books and napping for the next few days which was incredibly pleasant.

Amber took some fab pictures which I have stolen to share with you......

........and now on to the photos I took.......

........we had to play car Tetris to get all of us plus our suitcases in to Ambers Fiat 500, we managed.....just!

.......holiday hat.....I think this is the only time I wore it!

........plane snacks!

.......our first view of Playa Blanca.

.......handcrafted bottle openers! The weirdest part was these were found in a shop that had mainly kids toys and postcards for sale.....really not sure what to make of it!

........mmmmmm Spanish biscuits......one of my favourite things ever!

........whipped flavoured purple air.....not the hotel's finest hour on the dessert front.....the green stuff was mint sauce.....honest!

.......I attempted to take some outfit pictures, I had planned on blogging a little whilst I was away but I hadn't bargained for the hotels sketchy internet that was only available in the lobby!

.......my all inclusive sun tan line! That bracelet was so annoying.....

........Chemmy shuffling in preparation for a hand of Crazy 8's (there are only seven rounds that's why it's craaaaaazy!).....

.......a few more outfit pictures, and a close up of the new short hair!

Overall I had an amazing time and I've come home with some interesting tan lines! I can't wait for my next holiday which will be Dubai in just over three weeks time! Spoilt.......Moi.........never!

Wishlist

I've been told I'm a difficult person......to buy presents for. I have no idea why this is but I thought I would try and be helpful this year so here goes. In no particular order I would very much like.......

.......this bracelet set.........

.......these, anyone who knows me knows I love anything green so I wasn't going to be able to resist these!

......what with my shopping ban and new years resolution to only buy eight pairs of shoes this year I find myself struggling a bit (I've already bought myself five of the eight allowed pairs.....eeep!) now if someone else were to buy me shoes that would be totally fine......I'm a size six (39) FYI.........

......I adore this iPad case and it's from the lovely lady who made my laptop bag so I know it will be amazing.....

......I would obviously need this iPad cover too....

.......I was planning on allowing myself a new dress for my birthday night out but I've decided that kinda defeats the purpose of the shopping ban so I won't be buying myself this dress......however if anyone wanted to buy it for me.......I think that would be allowable (doesn't it go well with the shoes I've picked........hmmmmm do you see what I did there?). I'd need a size Small........

.......my niece (Small Girl Type Creature) found this for me which I love and fits in nicely with the "in" joke my Bestie Tatty and I have running. I'm not sure I would ever actually wear it but I do love it!

.........these are my favourite chocolates of all time......om nom nom!

.......I love this idea, a custom portrait by the very talented artist Aya. How amazing would it be to own something like this created just for you ?!

.......I've wanted a necklace like this for a long time, I think this one is gorgeous.......

......as is this ring! I need this in my life......

........and whilst I'm on the Bunny theme......I have wanted this framed Playboy cover from the month of my birth (yes I'm a child of the 70's!) for ever! Even before I worked for Playboy........I'd like the white frame please......... This list could get very long indeed so I shall stop here.

I'm having my birthday bash at Groovy Wonderland in Loop bar again this year and I'm very much looking forward to it. Roller Girls, Dancing DJ's, light up dance floors and jugs of cocktails......whats not to love?!? I can't wait!

Disappearance

I've been hiding under a rock feeling very sorry for myself with a horrid stinky cold.....well that is partly the reason for my disappearance. The first few days it was definitely the cold but after that I was spending a lot of time with The Guitarist (or The Talented Floozie as he's been lovingly nicknamed). Oh and I also went on holiday for a week!

About a month ago I talked The Mini Ginger One and her fiancé into joining me at Roadhouse for a few drinks and a little dancing, when we arrived it turned out to be a rockaoke night.....fab!! The Fiancé promptly set about choosing his song for the evening (Lenny Kravitz - Are You Going To Go My Way) and we settled in for a damn good night.

If you've never been to a rockaoke night then I highly recommend it, there were some amazing performers and some not so great but all very enjoyable. The band were awesome, which they have to be to keep up with the different abilities of the singers who decide to perform! We, of course, went to the very front to scream out appreciation for The Fiancé's performance which was totally brilliant.......whilst I was bopping away down at the front I got a very good look at The Talented Floozie aka the lead guitarist.....hot!

Once The Fiancé had taken his final bow we went back to our seats but I kept a very interested eye on the stage.......yup he was definitely hot. Kinda of what I'd imagine the Oriental love child of Dave Berry and Keanu Reeves might look like! Hmmmmmm now a dilemma........how does one go about attracting the attention of a member of the band without coming across like a groupie? Enter the club photographer.....he came over to take a picture of our little group and I decided to just ask.....what was the worst that could happen? Turns out that The Talented Floozie is twenty seven (damn it) and single! When they'd finished they're set the photographer dragged him over to meet me (wasn't that lovely of him?) and we got chatting.

The Talented Floozie and I got on really well and the conversation was flowing easily and he was just as hot close up.....result! Now because I'd just started the Jenny Craig diet I'd decided to drink vodka, water and lime instead of my usual Corona and The Fiancé got second place in the competition and had won us a lovely bottle of champagne..........I was drunkidy drunk drunk...........whoops! I seemed fine apparently but I was definitely feeling very squiffy. I would definitely not recommend this for creating the best first impression......I woke up the next morning not really remembering a whole lot of the night before but worse than that......no phone number, damn it!

The Mini Ginger One had enjoyed her night at Roadhouse so much that she decided to have her leaving do (sob) there a few weeks later......everyone had been teasing me about the last time and I was kinda hoping the Talented Floozie would be there and also kinda hoping he wouldn't be. The band turned up and yes the Talented Floozie was the lead guitarist......le sigh! The Fiancé decided to sing again so of course we headed down to the front to scream our support.........I caught the Floozie's eye and got a little smile so started feeling a little less embarrassed about the previous meeting.

I decided the only way forward was to just go over and say "Hi" again so thats exactly what I did. The Floozie came and found me when the band had finished their set and we got chatting again.......he was still easy to talk to and still hot....yay! We sat and talked until the club closed during which time he told me he asked my flatmate (the bar manager at Roadhouse) to pass his number along to me! The rest, as they say, is history......we've spent all our free time together and it's been lovely, I'm a Happy Bunny!

In other news........I know this is really late but I have the winners of my giveaway! I used random.org to generate the winners........
